Hyundai refers to a group of companies and related organizations founded by Chung Ju-yung in South Korea. Among them The Hyundai motor company is the famous one. The Hyundai Motor Company, a division of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, is South Kore largest and the worlds fifth largest Automaker in terms of units sold per year.
Hyundai’s headquarters are in Seoul, South Korea. In Ulsan, South Korea, Hyundai operates the worlds largest integrated automobile manufacturing facility, which is capable of producing 1.6 million units annually.
In a previous position at a different publication where long-term cars were company-owned and not donated by the automakers’ public relations departments, I vetoed a staff decision to lease a Volvo S60 instead of a Hyundai Elantra. This did not make me a popular person.
We had just turned in a BMW 328i and my spoiled cadre of writers and editors wanted another luxury sport sedan to tool around in for two years.
The new Volvo was a natural to fill the slot vacated by the BMW, they argued. However, Hyundai had just launched a redesigned Elantra with a terrific powertrain warranty, and it was my duty to keep the team and the content we produced sharply focused on the consumers who trusted us to tell them what cars to buy instead of what would make us look good rolling down Wilshire Avenue.
To my knowledge, no publication had ever conducted a long-term test on a Hyundai so I decided that the time had come to test the Korean automaker’s mettle. When our silver Elantra GLS sedan arrived, I gave the team this instruction: Beat on this car has hard as possible each and every time you drive it. Try to break it.
Maintaining Hyundai‘s emphasis on delivering class leading safety technology, the 2008 Azera boasts impressive active and passive safety features to protect its occupants in the event of a collision, earning the vehicle the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) top crash test ratings for frontal offset impacts.
The Azera continues to set standards by making key life-saving active safety technology standard, such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with a Traction Control System (TCS).
Also standard are independent double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension, large four-wheel disc brakes and an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that includes Brake Assist, providing maximum braking force when a panic stop is detected, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), which optimizes brake performance even with differing vehicle loading.

HYUNDAI ACCENT Hyundai‘s entry-level Accent is certainly worth a look for anyone interested in an inexpensive people-mover. With fresh styling and the choice of either a hatchback coupe or a sedan, the Accent offers something for most buyers.
The hatchback comes in either GS or SE trim, while the sedan is only available in GLS dress. All Accents are front-wheel drive and powered by a 16-valve, 1.6L inline four-cylinder putting out 110 horsepower.
On Wednesday, we brought you the first pictures of Hyundai’s new Transform, a Korean market derivative of the Verna hatchback that is a close relative of our stateside Accent, the automaker’s lowest-cost offering.
For 2010, the KDM Verna Transform model incorporates a unique front fascia and a controversial looking grille among other changes. The big question we had on our mind after seeing it was: Is this model bound for the U.S. – or was it simply another foreign Accent?
Bedore went on to confirm that the next U.S. Accent is part of the company’s 24/7 plan (which will see seven new model introductions over a 24 month period that began with the rollout of the Genesis Coupe). While we’re not privy to the salacious specifics of Hyundai’s product calendar, we expect to see the new Tucson crossover join the family next, followed either by the aforementioned Accent replacement or the Veloster-based 2+2 sporty coupe.
